The site is betting on the fact that you don’t. You technically could predict it if you knew the exact state of every molecule in the world. It uses atmospheric noise to generate its numbers. We can use real-world events to generate randomness. If you’re working in any of those languages, you may prefer to make your own generator. The default ones in Perl, Java, and C are infamous. Some random number generators are known to be very bad. Knowing how they work will help you pick the best one. Some may be better for your project than others. It’s nice to know how the algorithms that you’re using work. Why make a random number generator when we can just use random.random()? How do computers make random numbers? We will make a few of our own random number generators to show how they work. Then you should be able to just double click on "CharacterCreator.jar" to run the program. Make sure you have the latest version of Java Runtime Environment which you can download from here. Unzip the contents into either your Desktop or Documents folder (or really anywhere that isn't your Programs folder, your operating system will kill the process if you run it from there). I received permission from the wonderful Iscaneus ( ) to incorporate his fantastic custom-made sprites into this program. The biggest updates are the additional art resources for the "Combat" sprites. I had originally posted this in December ( ) but I've added a significant number of additional art resources so I wanted to post an update so that people can access the new updates. You can use this program to make your own custom portraits and combat tokens using art from the Gameboy Advanced Fire Emblem games. For years I've used artwork from Fire Emblem in my online tabletop games, and for the last few years I've been working on a program to help other people do the same.
